a young boy in a red t-shirt vomited into the trash can at work this evening.

i was wiping off the counter while stevie was doing "active sampling" when i heard a strange sound, one much like coughing and gagging. this was followed by spitting.

i thought 'i hope that kid is not puking in the trash can.'

he was.

then i hear the woman who was with him tell him to call his mom because they're going home.

i continue to wipe down counters and soon move out to the tables in the "lobby". stevie comes back from her gallavanting around the store and i rush over to her, whispering 'i think that kid in the red t-shirt just puked into the trash can.' she laughs a horrified laugh and walks briskly to the backroom. i stay where i am. 'well come ON' she says. i follow her. we discuss it for a while. we agree there's not much we can do. we don't even call over a manager, because what are they going to do? smell it?

later on, stevie sees the boy in the red t-shirt rush over to the same trash can and spit into it again.

now what really grinds my gears about the whole situation is not so much that the children threw up, vomited, puked, up-chucked in the trash can, but that the adult who was with him (presumably his grandmother) did not tell us that the child had thrown up. if my child vomited into a trash can, i would tell the people whom the trash can belongs to.

i realized today that i accidentally registered for the wrong math class for the fall semester. oops. there is a "change your schedule" day on july 17th so i'll fix it then. i'm going in that day anyway because i want all my classes (with the exception of beginning french I on monday nights) to be on tuesdays and thursdays. that way i'll be able to not work on thursdays or fridays ever and go straight to boston on thursday afternoons. tory will be in boston and i like him, i guess.

i'm really excited about the fall. it's my first time registered as a full-time student, carrying a full course load of four classes. as it stands at the moment, i have methods of literary studies, history of western philosophy, beginning french I, and survey of mathematics, which i have to switch because i need developmental mathematics because math is not my strong suit. i much prefer words. plus, i'll be working at borders still and that will be good. and tory will be good too.

everything will be better, between us and world, this upcoming school year. obviously i'm not looking forward to spending so many nights without him resting peacefully by my side, but i feel like the time is going to fly by. we'll both be so busy, with work and school and whatever else we decide to neatly fit into our schedules. he'll have a major that better suits him, a dorm that isn't so stiffling and claustrophobic, a roommate that doesn't hang out in his boxer/briefs for a few hours, and his sister and her boyfriend on campus so he's not spending so much by himself. isolating ourselves is something we both fall into all too easily.

wow. my last update was in august and it is now almost thanksgiving. my how the time flies.

those fucking SATs are over and now i have to wait for my scores. a point of advice for all you pre-SAT-ers: i guarantee they (=the man) will turn a three-and-a-half hour exam into almost five hours. promise. i was fuming. i was beside myself in anger. standardized tests are the devil because everyone works at their own pace. some finish early and some need a little extra time. even when i slow myself down, i would still sit and twiddle my thumbs until the time was called. they treat you like you're ignorant and beneath them, just because you're an adolescent. never, ever condescend to me because you will hear about it. i was ready to blow up at the proctor and she couldn't have done a thing about it because i'm not at doherty, let alone in the public school system.
the point is: i did it, i did my best, and now it is over. yay.

work is going fantastically, thanks for asking. i love working at pacsun and all the people i work with. we're hiring a lot of new people and i'm looking forward to [hopefully] helping them figure out the registers. holiday season is quickly approaching, and it is going to suck. all the stores already have their christmas decorations up, the mall is all dec'ed out, even santa claus is there already. IT'S NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING YET! i believe the only people i will seeing, outside of work, home, and school, would be j and s. it's going to be crazy, people. nearly everyone is working on black friday, the busiest and most popular shopping day of the year. i cannot wait. at least i will be making more money.

school is going, going, going. i did fantastically well on my last psych exam. who knew reading everything would actually pay off? psych is absolutely my favorite class, because it's more interesting, fewer people, and the professor is awesome. i do better in that class, even though i lost my cyllabus, then in my american art class. which i'm continuing only because i can't drop it. five more weeks left, two exams. i can do it.
i spoke with the assistant admissions director to figure out what i have to do to be accepted, officially. my SAT scores will need to be submitted, the application filled out, i might write the optional essay just because, my grades from these two classes (^), and i have to re-take the GED because i did not score high enough. i've accepted that fact and am moving on. let's just get it done. i've decided to be an english major, and i'm going to take introduction to literature (!!!) next semester, so my grades in that class will also matter, i'm sure. yay. last stressful thing and then i'm done.

when he called, i didn't recognize his voice. a clear sign.
i resented the fact that he woke me up, when usually i wouldn't care, i would just be so happy to hear his voice.

the other night, sam was here until 4:30 in the morning. it was amazing. we didn't even fool around, we just lay in my nice warm bed under the nice warm covers and talked. we talked about nearly everything, with the exception of his going to australia for two and a half months, which is consistently looming over our heads like a torrential downpour.

when did it become christmas eve? the last thing i remember was my birthday.

it's been a whirlwind since september.

i lied to my brother today. the first big lie i've ever told him in a very long time. and it had absolutely nothing to do with me. i don't know who i should, for lack of a better term, be faithful to- sam or aimee. at least he's not putting me in the middle.

i haven't been alone for more than hour in three days. yes, three days. it's incredibly trying on one's patience with, oh, her parents. sometimes i'm completely cool and my old joking self, but others i just want them all to die, or shut up, whichever. yeah. tomorrow i should have some nattie time. thank fucking god.

YEAH! GO ME! i've basically nailed myself a job at weathervane. the manager [who's name i cannot for the life of me remember] will be calling my references [aimee/spirit and marie] tomorrow. if they're good [which they clearly will be] then the job is mine and she'll contact me. YEAH! it'll start as a seasonal job- christmas, you know- and then probably be permanent. she thinks i'll do great there. i will. YEAH!
